Located on the northwestern side of Bainbridge Island, Arrow Point and Battle Point combine waterfront scenery, wooded residential streets, and exceptional access to outdoor recreation. Arrow Point extends toward Manzanita Bay, while the broader Battle Point area surrounds one of the island’s largest and most beloved community parks.

The neighborhood offers a diverse mix of properties, from waterfront homes and established island residences to newer construction and homes tucked into larger, forested lots. Along Arrow Point and Manzanita Bay, some properties offer direct water access, private docks, or views across the bay. Farther inland, mature evergreens, quiet roads, and generous lots create a peaceful residential setting with a distinctly Pacific Northwest character.

History is also an important part of the Battle Point story. During World War II, the land that is now Battle Point Park was used as a U.S. Navy radio transmission station. Remnants of that era remain today, while a former transmitter building now supports the Battle Point Astronomical Association and its observatory.

Today, the neighborhood is defined by its connection to nature and recreation. Battle Point Park, the Grand Forest, Fairy Dell Trail, Manzanita Bay, and an extensive network of trails and green spaces are all nearby. Although the area feels removed from the activity of downtown, Winslow and the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal remain within an easy drive.

  • Forest to Sky Trail: A forested trail connection between Battle Point Park and the Grand Forest, creating an easy way to extend a walk or bike ride from the park into the island’s broader trail network.

  • Fairy Dell Trail: A wooded trail leading toward the shoreline on the northwestern side of the island. The area also has a fun connection to Bainbridge Island’s literary and film history, with a scene from Snow Falling on Cedars filmed along the trail.

  • Grand Forest: One of Bainbridge Island’s signature natural areas, with an extensive network of forested trails for walking, running, biking, and exploring beneath towering evergreens.
  • Williams-Olson Park: A peaceful waterfront park along Manzanita Bay with a grassy lawn, beach access, and beautiful views across the water. It’s a great spot for picnics, beach walks, kayaking, or a game of pickleball, with 460 feet of shoreline.

  • Sawatdy Thai Cuisine: A longtime Bainbridge Island favorite serving traditional Thai dishes in a casual neighborhood setting. Great for take-out!

  • The Meadowmeer Bar & Grill: A casual neighborhood spot overlooking the golf course, and you don’t have to be a member to stop in. Open to the public for lunch and dinner, it serves classic American favorites, cocktails, and happy hour specials, with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the ninth green.

  • Eleven Winery: A laid-back Island winery known for its award-winning, sustainably made WA wines. The Day Road location is a favorite weekend gathering spot, with live music, rotating food trucks, and plenty of space to settle in with a glass of wine.

Living in Arrow Point, Bainbridge Island

Life in Arrow Point and Battle Point is closely connected to the outdoors. Waterfront and water-access properties around Arrow Point make kayaking, paddleboarding, and boating a natural part of life for some residents, while the surrounding forests and quiet residential roads create plenty of opportunities to enjoy the island on land.

At the center of the neighborhood is Battle Point Park, a 90-acre community destination offering trails, open fields, playgrounds, sports facilities, pickleball and tennis courts, disc golf, gardens, a pond, and other recreational spaces. The park also connects with nearby forest trails, making it possible to extend a neighborhood walk or bike ride into the Grand Forest.

In the summer, Battle Point Park becomes one of the island’s favorite gathering places for Terry’s Sounds of Summer, a free weekly concert series held on Wednesday evenings in July and August. Bring a picnic and a blanket, meet up with friends and neighbors, and spend the evening listening to live music surrounded by the park’s expansive green space. Concerts wrap up by 8:30 p.m., so even with one of the island’s most popular summer traditions right in the neighborhood, evenings return to their usual peaceful pace.

The area’s trail network is another defining feature. Fairy Dell Trail leads through a forested landscape toward the shoreline, while connections between Battle Point Park and the Grand Forest provide additional opportunities for walking, running, biking, and exploring. For film and literary enthusiasts, Fairy Dell also has a connection to Bainbridge Island’s creative history, with a scene from “Snow Falling on Cedars” filmed along the trail.

Everyday destinations are also within easy reach. Eleven Winery is nearby on Day Road, while Meadowmeer Golf & Country Club and the Bainbridge Island Recreation Center (BIRC) provide additional opportunities for golf, swimming, tennis, and fitness. Winslow, shopping, schools, restaurants, and the ferry are all a relatively short drive away.

Together, Arrow Point and Battle Point offer a lifestyle that feels spacious, active, and connected to nature, with waterfront recreation, extensive parkland, forest trails, and some of the island’s favorite community traditions all close to home.
